Soaking the world; one person at a time…

iSoaker.net | The iSoaker Network

The iSoaker Network Landing Page Though some consider iSoaker.net merely forums for iSoaker.com, this is not quite the case.  Though iSoaker.net definitely functions as the primary forums of iSoaker.com, allowable topics and goals of the sites are rather different.

Rather than focusing on stock water blasters reviews, the main goal of iSoaker.net revolves around all aspects of the online water warfare community development.  Of course, because of its relation to iSoaker.com, the forums devote a large subsection to stock water blaster discussions.  However, discussions on modifications, building, as well as community event, water warfare organization, and more are all welcomed as well.  Of course, specific water blaster technology discussions are usually not as in-depth as those found at Super Soaker Central.

That said, one can think of iSoaker.com as the more specific information containing site while iSoaker.net is built to serve the various needs of the online water warfare community.  Presently, though, iSoaker.net is scaled back, more focused on iSoaker.com developments, though retaining its more open nature towards all water warfare-related threads.

Super Soaker Central

Super Soaker Central Landing Page

Super Soaker Central is one of the largest websites dedicated to water blasters and water gun on the web.  This site dates back to 2003 when it was founded by two members of the online community: Ben (then known as Doom) and Freakymist.

The site has a number of sections covering all aspects from water blasters reviews to repairs to water warfare tactics.

Super Soaker Central Homemade Water Guns

Super Soaker Central Homemade Water Guns section

Super Soaker Central is perhaps best known for its sections on homemade water guns and water gun modifications. In these sections are a number of great guides, suggestions, and tips for those wanting to build and/or modify their water weaponry to build creations offering power far beyond that of current typical stock water blasters.

Complimenting the site, Super Soaker Central also has its own set of forums.  These forums are currently the largest forums (in post and number of users) online and has categories covering the breadths of the water warfare spectrum. Being a more technical-focused website, there is a set of forums dedicated to Water Gun Technology.

All-in-all, Super Soaker Central provides a great resource for avid water warriors, particularly for those looking for modifying and/or building their own water blasting equipment.  But don’t just take my word for it; check it out for yourself!

iSoaker.com (previously known as Aquatechnology) is perhaps one of the oldest (started in 1998) and largest sites for water blaster and water warfare information. This site primarily focuses on stock water blaster reviews (i.e. Super Soakers, Water Warriors, X-Stream, etc.), but also has numerous tips & tactics pages, water warfare game ideas, repair information, war stories and an extensive image gallery.

iSoaker.com is split into three main sections: Information, The Armoury, and Water Warfare.

The Information section contains a lot of general information from the history of the site as well as the History of the Super Soaker.  There are a bunch of general reference pages as well as links to other sites.

The Armoury sections is probably best known for providing access of iSoaker.com’s Product Listing databaseiSoaker.com‘s database contains hundreds of entries on various stock water blasters reviewed over the years.  Also in The Armoury section are subsections dealing with maintenance and repair of common water blaster problems.

The Water Warfare section, as its name implies, focuses on various aspects of the water warfare game, itself.  Subsections include water warfare games, player tips, and team tips.  The iSoaker.com Water Warfare section also contains a fairly large water story/battle report section with recounts and tales from the water warfare world.  That said, it appears that the Water Warfare section is undergoing some revamping in 2010.  It will be interesting to see how this section is redeveloped.

Overall, iSoaker.com provides great information for the avid water warrior.  But don’t just take my word for it; check it out for yourself!
